Tayabas City

TAYABAS, Quezon — This town recently celebrated an important event in its history when it was granted autonomy or self-government by the Spaniards on Aug. 13, 1898.

Every year since then, the event they call "Araw ng Tayabas’’ is celebrated by the people with parade and literary-musical program. Tayabas was the cabecera of the defunct Tayabas province for 131 years (1779-1910).

A quick look at historical files would reveal that in 1591, Tayabas was created into a province under the name of Kalilayan. On March 12, 1902, the civil government was established in Tayabas with Lucena as its capital. On June 12, 1902, the district of Principe, formerly under Nueva Ecija, and the district of Infanta, including Polillo which was under Laguna, were annexed to Tayabas. On Sept. 7, 1946, Tayabas was renamed Quezon Province.

Tayabas today is only 3-hour drive from Manila. Its stately municipality lies at the foot of the mystical Mount Banahaw. It is bounded on the north by Lucban, Lucena to the south, Pagbilao to the south-east and Sariaya to the west.

Actually, history states that Tayabas was founded by Franciscan missionaries in 1578. Its distinguished citizen, Manuel Luis Quezon, the first President of the Commonwealth of the Philippines, was the reason why Tayabas province was renamed after him.

I arrived in Tayabas on the eve of its celebration upon the invitation of Eppie Macalinao, Beth & Elmer Mendoza, Emily & Rodel Mendoza and Masyang Landrito. It was rainy season but somehow, the weather that day, Aug. 12, cooperated.

Staying at the Sumilang-Macalinao residence, our tour with Eppie and Emily brought us first to Casa de Communidad museum where the 18th century wardrobes and relics are displayed. We were mesmerized by the mestiza dress worn by Georgia A. Caceres during the Southern Tagalog Fair in 1964 which was highlighted by the "Miss Tayabas" beauty pageant. The mestiza gold lamé dressed with beaded apron was patterned after the clothes worn during the carnival-queen days. Also on display was the vestment worn by the first Filipino parochial priest, Rev. Fr. Isabelo Velez Martinez (1896). Our next stop was the Tayabas Tourism office that keeps important historical relics and artifacts like the century-old kalesa.

Then we proceeded to the famous Minor Basilica de Tayabas where St. Martin de Archangel, the town patron saint, is kept. From the keyshaped belfry of the church, we could see a bird’s eye view of the whole town. Inside the belfry, one can hear the voices of the distant past of this once Hispanic town through the church’s damp bricks covered with moss; archaic bell that dates back to the 18th century; an old clock; and centuries-old images or statues of saints.

We then paid a visit to the tomb of Bishop Alfredo Ma. Obviar, founder of the Institute of the Missionary Catechist of St. Therese of the Infant Jesus. "Make a wish and it will be granted to you," Eppie whispered to me during the said visit.

The next day was the "Araw ng Tayabas" celebration. Opening the day’s event was a Latin mass at 6 a.m., officiated by Mons. Tony Obea, followed by a parade participated in by people dressed up in 18th-century costumes: as soldiers, high-ranking officials, Guardia Civil and the frayles, women in Filipiniana dress and as Katipuneros.

The parade was spearheaded by the municipal mayor, Severina Cabuyaonadres, Cong. Rafael P. Nantes of the 1st district of Quezon province and his wife Betty, Grace Enverga, wife of Quezon province Gov. Willie Enverga and Miguel Malvar III, great grandson of Gen. Miguel Malvar. They were all dressed for the occasion.

It is somehow disheartening to note that when the parade started at 7:30 a.m. and made rounds at the town’s major thoroughfares, people in the place did not eagerly watch it. Instead, most of them flocked to the site where the emancipation drama would be re-enacted.

The play, "Tayabas, Malaya Ka Na!" written and directed by Rodell Mendoza, was staged at the patio of Tayabas Minor de Basilica. Its main cast is Sofio Alandy, a native of Tayabas and influential among the Spaniards, Gen. Miguel Malvar stands as a major cast, too, for he controlled Tayabas.

The highlight of the play is Spain’s relinquishing of its administrative powers over Tayabas to its inhabitants, after negotiations between Alandy and Malvar. And so as the flag of Spain was lowered to its pole, the Philippine flag was raised gradually. When both flags reached its end goals, there was a rousing and thunderous applause from an audience numbering 5,000 more or less. It was indeed a sight to behold. I even saw some people crying while the Philippine flag is being hoisted. Somehow, it was like watching an Independence Day celebration. But for the people of Tayabas, trece de Agosto is a day like no other.

Senator Jamby Madrigal was the special guest of honor. She donated illustrated books for the elementary school students of Tayabas. Madrigal pledged to support the SUSI Ng Tayabas, a theater group responsible in the reenactment of Araw Ng Tayabas, in all their forthcoming projects. She also lauded the Tayabas Tourism Office for its preservation of various century-old artifacts.

The Risk

The risk in making Thesis project
1. Choosing or selecting a doable proposal – In this process the proponents must analyze the each and every individual and know their specialty might be. Thus making assumption in what is the most appropriate proposal for the thesis project.
2. Inadequate leader – In the situation that the leader is incapable of leading the members or very hard to understand his commands. The other members must be able to synchronize their thoughts with the leader so that the thesis project can be successful and to fully understand each other. And if the leader is not very capable the other members must contribute to the lack of leadership.
3. Ghost member – In this situation the a member of the group does often show up at any meeting or even if he/she is there the member doesn’t do anything except cause distraction towards the other members.
4. Losing hope – In this situation some or most of the members are giving up cause they chose a very hard proposal or they are lacking in ideas or they can’t do the ideas they think of and it says in their mind that “its impossible” over and over again until the time is up and little or none at all progress in their proposal.
5. Uncoordinated group – In this situation the whole group is disorganized because there is a lot of ideas flying about in their head don’t know which the best approach to make the proposal much faster and much better than it already is. Cause of the disorganized group many time the group will fight over whose ideas are better and which is not actually usable.

S-Curve and Cost presentation

The S-curve shows the cost and expenditure while doing our thesis project. We categorized the expenses by monthly so that it will not be overcrowded with the amount of expenses we used in this study. In this we prophecies the amount of cost we will accumulated in a months time and the actual cost we make at the month.

Pert/CPM and Milestone

In this chart that is called Pert/CPM we categorized the sorting by how long it will take us to finish the proposed item. And also what we need to do before going to the next step or predecessor.

Gantt
Chart
In this chart called Gantt Chart it can be sorted by what activity should we follow in order to finish our thesis in a very conventional way.

Ayu Mayu (あゆまゆ?) is a Japanese manga created in 2007 by Shiotarou illustrated by Suzuno Tetsuji. The story reveled around a boy named Yousuke who is trying to find his sister who was adopted ten years prior to the start of the story. As of May 2008, three Volumes have been released.

Plot

Yousuke and his sister were orphaned at a young age. Yousuke's sister was adopted ten years before the start of the story, since then, he has been looking for her. One day Yousuke found the couple that adopted his sister, the problem is that they have two daughters, Ayu and Mayu, both of which were adopted from the same orphanage and are roughly the same age. Both Ayu and Mayu had an older brother before being adopted. Things get more complicated when Yousuke learns that the orphanage where he previously lived was burned down a year earlier, destroying all the records, and that the couple's own records have disappeared. Yousuke must figure out which one of the girls is in fact his sister. It is revealed thet Ayu was Yousuke's sister, so he started dating Mayu. Then it was discovered thet the 2nd pendant had the name Nayu written on it. Nayu then shows up and becomes the 3rd canidate as Yousuke's sister, even though she is always saying that she is not related to Yousuke, and is in fact in love with him.

Characters

Yousuke Toyokawa
The main character of the story. He spent the last several years trying to locate his beloved sister, until he found her (sort of). The biggest clues he has when questioned about his sister's identity is a charm necklace he gave her and a drawing she made with her name on it. Ayu and Mayu both remember having a brother, but they can't remember their brothers appearance. And half the name was torn off the drawing. As the story progresses, he finds himself liking both Ayu and Mayu, wishing they both were his younger sisters. At one point during chapter one he tries to convince the girls' father that he just remembered having two sisters. He also tries to get more involved with Ayu and Mayu's lives by getting interested in their hobbies. At the end of Volume one, they found an identical necklace on Ayu's envelope, but at the end of Volume two it seems the name Nayu was written on the necklace
A running gag in the series has it that Yousuke seems to be able to perform superhuman feats whenever he is worked up in a tight situation, when he is on his way to helping his "sisters" (often portrayed comically). Among of his supernatural feats include running very fast on water, and chopping a tree down with only his bare hands as displayed in chapter 13. As of chapter 16, it is also shown that he can transfer fevers to himself, as how he performed it on Ayu.
Mayu Anjou
One of the two girls who could have been Yousuke's sister. She is skilled at the violin and plays it at a professional level (seen in chapter three). She is really close to Ayu and likes that Yousuke tries to be a big brother to her. Of the two girls, she is the only one that calls Yousuke "onii-chan" (lit. "big brother"). The manga also shows that she is more caring than Ayu towards Yousuke. This is shown more in chapter 7 when she plans Yousuke's birthday party. In Chapter 8 Yousuke tells Mayu of his unbrotherly feelings toward her and he feels he has been rejected and suddenly she invites him to go on a beach trip over summer break. She gives him a test of his feelings and they end up together and sharing their first kiss. But when Ayu finds out that the necklace has "Nayu" engraved in it thy are back to square one and Mayu didn't seem to mind it at all.
Ayu Anjou
The second girl who could be Yousuke's sister. Compared to Mayu's true age, she is only a few months younger. She is a Skilled basketball player. Ayu is also very protective of Mayu, Her father remarking "She is more of a watchdog than a sister" upon Yousuke introduced to her. Although she is kind towards Yousuke, she does not hesitate to attack him when she thinks he is being a pervert. In chapter two, she reveals that Yousuke is just like her brother at the orphanage, but she doubts that he really is. By the end of Volume one (in chapter 5), Ayu, Mayu and Yousuke found an identical necklace (the same as the one Yousuke has) in Ayu's envelop. The end of volume 2 shows the necklace has the word "Nayu" written on it.Ayu also found out that she is in love with Yousuke. This first was seen when Yousuke and her were stuck on an island(which was on the other side of the resort) and they ate the "True Thoughts" mushroom. Then she confirmed her feelings when she went on a date with Jun(a friend who likes Mayu) and she tries to forget Yousuke but fails. When she is about to kiss Jun she cries and then at the end of the chapter Yousuke chases Jun away and he tells her that he followed them. When she sighs he asks if she loves Jun and she says there's only one person she loves. After he asks who she kisses him and she is happy knowing this feeling.
Katsutaka Anjou
The foster father of both Ayu and Mayu. He is a wealthy man and the dean of the school Yousuke will start attending. He knows that either one of his daughters could be the sister of Yousuke, and "tries" to help him figure it out. He is also constantly trying to make Yousuke do ridiculous task to earn his stay which must be accomplished in a week(usually). Yousuke has a habit of calling him "dad", but always responds by saying "I'm not your father".
Mrs. Anjou
Katsutaka Anjou's wife and possibly the only one trying to help Yousuke figure out who his sister is. When Yousuke fails a task, she always tries to help him out. It is revealed in the final pages of chapter one that she hid the missing records of Mayu and Ayu in a hole in the yard.
Takuji
The Anjou family dog who is always getting Yousuke into trouble. One example of this is in chapter 5, when Takuji stole Mrs. Anjou's panties. Yousuke found them and was instantly attacked by Ayu thinking HE (Yousuke) is the one that stole them. When Yousuke tried to explain what happened, Takuji started acting innocent. Commonly referred to as Niku (meat) by Yousuke.
Ayu and Mayu's friends
First appearing in chapter 3, they are school friends of Ayu and Mayu. There are two girls (Yume and Kaede) and one boy (Jun). Upon their introduction, an embarrassed Ayu tried to bury Yousuke so that they wouldn't find out, but Mayu spilt the beans. The two girls were happy for Ayu and Mayu, while the boy was skeptical saying that Yousuke might be a freeloader playing on their emotions. Yume has light hair and Kaede has darker hair. Their names were revealed in chapter 7. Kaede is also shown to be more dim than the other characters.
Nayu Komaki
A third girl who appears in chapter 11 as a name on the pendant, and chapter 15 in person. She calls Yousuke Onii-chan, but she says she is not his sister and they went to the same ophrange, which everyone there called him onii-chan. In chapter 15, she kissed him. At the end of the chapter she plans to go to the same school as him so she can be with him.She got into the school and now has a "possessed" cat which can speak. She is rather bold and is always flirting with Yousuke, which Ayu hits him because of this.
Shibata
Ayu and Mayu's personal swim instructor. He has a crush on Ayu and will do what ever it takes to please her. For this, he has a rivalry with Yousuke. He dreams that Ayu will call him Onii-chan (big brother) as seen in chapter 13.
Neko
A white talking cat that lives in Nayu's room. She call him Neko-san, and he thinks that she and Yousuke are his Master.

Code Geass

On August 10, 2010, a.t.b. (the Imperial calendar), the Holy Empire of Britannia overpowered Japanese forces and conquered the country with their new robotic weapons, the Knightmare Frames, in less than a month. In the aftermath of Britannia's invasion, Japan lost its freedom, its rights, and even its name, becoming Area 11 of the Britannian Empire. The Japanese people, renamed as "Elevens", are forced to survive in poor neighborhoods, while Britannians live in first-class settlements. Rebel elements persist, however, as pockets of Japanese organizations struggle against the Empire for the independence of Japan.

After his father, the Emperor of Britannia, failed to prevent the assassination of his mother, an attack which also left his sister blind and crippled, the young prince Lelouch vowed to destroy Britannia. Seven years later, he accidentally becomes mixed up with "terrorists" in Area 11 and encounters a mysterious girl named C.C., who gives him the power of Geass. With it, he finally has the power that he needs to defeat Britannia and fulfill his two wishes: to seek revenge for his mother and to construct a world in which his beloved sister can live happily.
